國際語言文化中心
世界來到元智,元智邁向世界
通識教學部為因應高等教育國際化之趨勢,推展外語學習環境,提昇學生外語應用能力,規劃執行通識外語課程與外籍生之華語教育,推動國際性之校園與社區文化,下設國際語言文化中心(以下簡稱語文中心)。
語文中心執掌如下:
(一)規劃及開設全校必修與選修之通識英語課程。
(二)規劃及開設外籍師生華語學習環境與課程。
(三)為本校師生開設各級外語課程。
(四)服務國際教師及學生。
(五)建立學校文件翻譯團隊。
(六)進行國際化之文化活動。

WHERE THE WORLD MEETS TAIWAN AND TAIWAN JOINS THE WORLD
Welcome to the International Language and Culture Center of Yuan Ze University where all international students and staff would feel at home.
The Center is structured academically into three divisions: Foreign Languages program, Chinese Language Program, and Culture/International Student Services program. As all students of Yuan Ze University are required to develop and maintain a high standard of English language or other languages, the teaching of English language and other foreign languages occupies a major and important part of our program The center has also developed various courses to suit the needs and interests of international students and staff.
As a cultural center and international office, the center is responsible for organizing a vigorous program of multi-cultural activities and providing related services to international students and staff.
「國際語言文化中心」徽章的構成與象徵意義
一、人類最古老又美麗的文化符號甲骨文,與主導全球話語的國際語言的英文字母,建構成元智大學國際語言文化中心的圖騰。這是擁抱傳統與現代、東方結合西方的象徵。
二、中英語文都是最強大的國際語言文字。兩者的整合,產生強大的文化軟權力。
三、甲骨文在上,英文字母在下,説明以中華語言與文化爲主體,加上英文的基礎,我們將具有最強大的國際競爭力。
Formation and Symbolism of ILCC Logo
1. The logo of ILCC is formed by a unique combination of four ancient Chinese scripts on oracle bones and four modern English alphabets. These two elements show that the Center embraces tradition and modern, East and West.
2. Both Chinese and English are the most widely used languages of the world today. They are representation of globalization and internationalization.
3. The Chinese scripts occupy the above and central part of the logo while the English is lying below. The formation shows that when a person is well educated with Chinese language and culture and equipped with the English language, he would be very competitive in the age of globalization.
